Donate a Doggie Bag

Kelly MarCom, Print Design

June 29th, 2010

In honor of national “Take Your Dog to Work Day”, Kelly MarCom launched a drive to collect Purina® brand dog and cat food to donate to Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption (CARA). To help encourage the public to bring in donations, a branded look and name was created to be used on flyers, a window display and an eblast.

Using the title “Donate a Doggie Bag” as a jumping point, a set of 3 flyers (2 by other designers at Kelly MarCom) were hand-drawn and printed onto paper bags. As they were passed out in the community, it was encouraged to reuse the bags for toting donations back to Kelly MarCom.

Stock Building Supply Website

Interactive/Motion Design, Kelly MarCom, Website Design

February 2nd, 2010

In the past, Stock Building Supply was mainly known as a lumber supply company. In actuality they supply much more than lumber, they supply strong partnerships with home builders, engineers and architects. To further establish themselves as a leading resource in the building industry, a new website was created where the focus is on the customer. This was done through both the website’s architecture and imagery. Throughout the website, there are full color images of people interacting with house “blueprints”. This emphasizes that with Stock Building Supply, a customer’s dream home will “come to life”.

My main roles in this project were website design and flash animation design/development.

Benjamin Craig Stationers

Freelance, Website Design

January 23rd, 2010

Inspired by the ornate quality of traditional wedding invitations, this website was created for a small, independently owned stationary store to help promote their exceptional customer service and products. Although their focus is on paper products, Benjamin Craig Stationers know that people often research a store online before they ever set foot in the door. The warm colors and inviting language of this website reflect the feelings that are felt when shopping at Benjamin Craig Stationers and gives them the creditability to be trusted with a potential customer’s stationary and gift needs.

Kelly MarCom Dessert First Advertisement

Kelly MarCom, Print Design

October 18th, 2009

This ad was designed for placement in The V Foundation’s Dessert First event program, the annual charity event for women’s cancer research. Although women’s cancer is a serious subject, the charity event is a time for indulgence and celebration. This advertisement takes advantage of the event’s fun atmosphere to show Kelly MarCom’s “support” of women’s cancer research in a very cheeky way.

Abbeygail’s Logo

Identity Design, Kelly MarCom

October 18th, 2009

Abbeygail’s, originally called Abbeygail’s Closet, is a thrift boutique featuring gently used upscale, name brand women’s and children’s clothing and accessories, home decor and other treasures. All proceeds from sales at ABBEYGAIL’S are donated to The Women’s Center of Wake County. This logo features a fashionista’s silhouette, possibly Abbeygail herself, in a classic yet modern style. The positive space of the logo also forms an “A” to represent the boutique’s name even further.

Materials for Abbeygail’s were co-designed with another designer at Kelly MarCom. My main contribution was the identity icon.

This direct mail piece for Pentair Water Pools and Spa was created to promote several things to their distributors – new products, new services and new rewards. Staggered page edges were used to call attention to all three sections as distributors read through the brochure.

Chef Hamm Website

Kelly MarCom, Website Design

February 23rd, 2009

Chef Gregg Hamm, owner and chef at Cafe 121 in Sanford, NC came to Kelly MarCom with the need of a new website. Since the website included information on both his restaurant and other aspects of his culinary career including catering and personal recipes, it was important for this website to have a bit of character and style that represents Chef Hamm, not just his restaurant.

The website is designed to look like a cookbook, resting on a stainless steel counter. Each section of the website is a different page of the cookbook, indicated by the page tab main navigation.

Oracle/BIAS Direct Mail

Kelly MarCom, Print Design

January 21st, 2009

Oracle came to Kelly MarCom for a quick update to a BIAS IT Solutions promotional mailer. Because of a few concerns that we shared with Oracle about the original design, they agreed to a total redesign.

The mailer’s new design and language used an “old west” style to give the incentive, a bottle of Tabasco sauce, more purpose. Design elements of the mailer include a shipping label, an informative insert and a label for the Tabasco bottle.

The new design’s results were so positive, BIAS contacted Kelly MarCom to create a similar direct mail piece for another service they provide.

NCLGISA Website

Kelly MarCom, Website Design

October 28th, 2008

NCLGISA is the “North Carolina Local Government Information Systems Association.” Being an organization, it was very important for their website to show the community aspect of the work they do and be a resource for the many events they hold each year. Upon refresh, the NCLGISA homepage rotates through several photographs taken from industry events to promote both the people and the spirit of their events.
